My Worry
Awaiting the arrival of the flu season is nerve wrecking for me this year simply because reports of numerous confirmed cases of HINI and the regular strain of flu have surfaced over the last two months. I work in education so I am in contact with many people daily. I am constantly with my grandchildren if I am not working. Yesterday, we found out that one of my four-year-old grandson’s flag football teammates had the HINI flu and that was the reason he had not made it to a few practices and games. Now, the coach has it. The coach did not start feeling bad until after the game this past Saturday. Along with many other teams, my grandson’s team plays their games at LSUS on Saturday. Since we are not in the flu season yet, I am worried about how this year will end. This class is great, because the only illness we can contract is a virus on our computer (hopefully not), which in turn will make us sick when the repair bill comes due. Stay well and have a productive weekend.

I worry about this too. I need to get me and my daughter a flu shot, but that won't protect us from swinw flu. I'm not sure if this a huge cause for concern or the media hyping it up too much. I'm hoping it's the latter. I thnk as long as you as treated quickly everyone should be fine. I hope you have a great rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteI have grandkids too and I'm especially concerned about the flu. I've urged my daughter to get the whole family in for flu shots . My youngest grand child is only 6 weeks old and my daughter will be returning to work soon. He will be in daycare and thats especially scarey. She really doesn't have to go back to work so soon, so I wish she would stay home with him for awhile longer. But you know we can't run their lives.
ReplyDeleteI'm worried, too. Usually, the faculty and staff at LSUS receive free flu shots at WK, but they don't have enough this year, so we're having to wait. I think that sucks. My alternative is to go to Walgreens and pay $25 for a regular flu shot--and that doesn't cover the H1N1 virus.
ReplyDeleteI have been using tons of hand sanitizer and I bring Clorox wipes for my class that meets in the computer lab. It's all I can do.
Good luck! Stay well.

I definitely agree with you, so many people seem to be getting sick. I sure hope all of us remain well!
